Watch out, wildlife boaters!

The sun's been out and we've even had some summerlike weather, not to mention Spring Break. Which means lots of water recreation on the bay and lots of foot traffic at PIER 39.

We've seen a few sea lions with injuries recently and have had to call The Marine Mammal Center to come check them out. One was missing some flesh from the rear, which we were told appeared to be a propeller injury. More boat on the water makes it a greater risk for the sea lions to go about their normal swimming routine.
Sea Lions are considered “opportunistic feeders,” eating available prey rather than one species.
The average life span of a California Sea Lion is 20–25 years.
